Ideas
Hayes sees a pharaoh in black walking down the hall outside her hospital room, lights flickering, black smoke. He stops, turns head to her, tentacles moving out from his face.
ROOM 410
The player is walking down a hotel hallway to the door numbered 410. The lights are flickering like heartbeats, but getting slower and fainter. The more you hurry to the door the longer the corridor gets. The urgency to get there and save your friend makes your heart race. The flickering lights are so slow and the lock on the door won’t budge. You brace and rush the door, tearing the door-jam as the door gives way and you stumble into the… yawning expanse of space, strange stars irradiate you in eldritch light and you fall toward a yawning writhing mass of faces screaming and rending, their mad eyes fixed upon you - and you wake shouting.
Call from Hayes' friend, the stable hand, telling about her grandmother, declining health, he's got it under control.

Dealing with the Cult
Breaking In:
- Investigators can gather evidence of the cult's illicit activities by breaking into Ju-Ju House outside of cult rituals.
- No written records of cult members exist, but a ledger detailing payments to Captain Robson might hint at his involvement.
- Items like N’Kwane’s mask, personal items of missing people, and cult artifacts can be taken as evidence.
- The ciimba's presence or absence can indicate if someone has been in the sacrificial chamber.
- Photographs or physical evidence might be used to convince authorities to raid Ju-Ju House.
Capturing Evidence:
- Photographs of the ciimba, sacrificial chamber, and chakota can be taken, but poor lighting requires a Hard Art/Craft (Specializations) (Photography) skill roll.
- Using a flash during rituals will alert the cultists.
- Photos of the detective taking bribes can be used against Robson, and photos of Elias’ killers can help convince Lt. Poole.
- Depending on the evidence, a raid on Ju-Ju House might be organized. If Robson tips off M’Dari, the shop might be set on fire, endangering nearby residents and destroying evidence.
Head On:
- Direct confrontation with the entire cult is risky. Setting fire to the shop during a ritual might be an option, but it has severe consequences (such as loss of innocent lives and destruction of evidence that could save Hilton Adams).
- The investigators might be able to confront M’Dari directly with the right planning.
- Failure to deal with the cult results in Hilton Adams' execution and alerts other global cults about the ongoing threat to their plans.
