A day earlier: a conversation about magnum opus with Jeremie on Baffin Island. Talking about his own research.

Trek in the Baffin Mountains, trying to clear Oliver’s head for thoughts. Going to observe the Northern Lights in the Baffin Mountains.

Comes upon a base camp torn apart where he was supposed to meet a friend Jeremie Rondeau. Describe the area, well-known to Oliver. Destroyed tents and camp. Horrifically scarred and dismembered bodies, but Jeremie is nowhere to be seen. Growls and spluttering heard in the darkness. INVESTIGATION, FINDING TRACKS

Searching (and taking shots? FIREARMS) ****brings Oliver near the peak.

The severed half of Jeremie moves out of the shadows - mouth ajar, saying gibbering sounds, swaying. When getting close, it stops, Jeremie opens his mouth. The words “Witness” echo from inside Jeremie, as though he were an amplifier for whatever is controlling what’s left. At that moment Jeremie’s eyes and mouth light up with eerie pale blue light, looking skyward.
